Roman Sculptures + Museums of Rome

As Rome is steeped in history and art, there are many locations that sculptures can be found throughout the city. The Capitoline Museum houses the Equestrian Marcus Aurelius, the remaining statue of the Roman emperor and Colossal Constantine, meant to represent Constantine whenever he was away.The Vatican Museum is home to the Laocoon Group, a massive marble sculpture that was created in the 1st century BC that would influence other forms of art, including Michelangelo. Many Roman Sculptures can be found throughout the city, including Museo Centrale Montemartini and Palazzo Massimo alle Terme.
