The architecturally-trained Castiglioni began working with Italian manufacturers in post-WWII Italy to collaborate and create new products. Castiglioni’s Principle Design Component was a process in which he used to ensure his designs were the result of research into new technology, materials and the end-user. Another large part of his process in work was to approach work with humour and that is reflected in the playful nature of some of his designs including the Snoopy light for Flos and Paro for Danese.
